Has the thought of becoming an aromatherapist ever entered your mind? Many people are searching for a way to turn something they love into a full time job. Can taking aromatherapy courses allow you to enjoy a lucrative vocation?

Many people believe that taking aromatherapy courses are only good for teaching them how to use essential oils safely and effectively for their own personal interests. The truth of the matter is that not only do aromatherapy courses teach you how to mix essential oils for making soaps, candles and other homemade products, they also teach you how to use the skills you learn via the aromatherapy courses so that you too can become a certified aromatherapist.

By becoming a certified aromatherapist you would be receiving the aromatherapy training necessary to work in the wonderful field of Alternative Medicine and enjoy the many benefits that a good aromatherapy course would teach you.

What type of work could you do if you received your certification in aromatherapy? As an aromatherapist you could work in a spa, consulting clients on the proper choice of essential oils they may need. How about consulting massage therapists on the best massage blend for their clients who are stressed out, or suffer from headaches.

If you wanted you could also open a retail store of your own and sell essential oils. If you have received your certification in Aromatherapy you would be much better able to assist your customers than the fellow working down the road in a natural health food store who has no aromatherapy training.

Does it matter which aromatherapy courses you take? Yes it matters. You would need both a Level I and Level II Aromatherapy Course in order to become certified as an aromatherapist. You must be sure that the courses offered meet the standards required by the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy. Be sure to check the syllabus for any aromatherapy courses you may be interested in and make certain that they meet the standards necessary.

As a certified aromatherapist myself, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy working with people everyday and teaching them how to use essential oils safely and effectively. I definitely recommend that you search the Internet and find a good, affordable aromatherapy course that you can learn from at home in your spare time. Adding extra income to the family budget is always a plus and you will see for yourself how great it is to take healing back into your own hands.

Find Spa and Aromatherapy Schools in the United States and Canada. Spa and aromatherapy schools are a one of a kind educational system that instructs students in the natural art of health and beauty. Students enrolled in spa and aromatherapy schools will discover a mixture of spa treatments that include hydrotherapy, Ayurvedic massage, stone therapy, and related bodywork techniques.

A number of spa and aromatherapy schools provide certificate and diploma programs, depending on the course of study you choose. In many cases, spa and aromatherapy schools provide general curriculums in anatomy, pathology and physiology, aromatherapy principles and techniques, aromatherapy massage, flower essences and essential oils, beauty body treatments and facials, spa therapies, cosmetic chemistry, and several other associated subjects of study.

In addition to hands-on and clinical training, students participating in studies in one of many spa and aromatherapy schools will commonly gain basic first aid skills. Because spa and aromatherapy schools present an extended course of study to students, professional massage therapists can facilitate this training to expand their private practices and enhance services provided to clients and patients. Additionally, individuals who are seeking to develop entrepreneurial skills can use training and certification gained through spa and aromatherapy schools to open private aromatherapy spas, salons and clinics.

If you are interested in enrolling in one of many spa and aromatherapy schools or would simply like to learn more about spa and aromatherapy schools, feel free to browse the Healing Arts Schools directory today.

Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile liquid plant materials. It is a also called is essential oils. The use of aromatherapy can benefit you in many ways. Aromatherapy is a generic term that refers to any of the various traditions that make use of essential oils sometimes in combination with other alternative medical practices and spiritual beliefs. There are about 150 essential oils. Most of these oils have antiseptic properties; some are antiviral, anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, antidepressant and expectorant.

Two basic mechanisms are offered to explain the purported effects. One is the influence of aroma on the brain, especially the limbic system through the olfactory system. It has a particularly Western currency and persuasion. Bathing in essential oils is an all-natural way to unblock congested pores and ease the symptoms of fatigue and muscle tension.

Aromatherapy can also be used to ease the discomfort of suffering from colds and flus. Oils such as peppermint, eucalyptus, ginger, clove, juniper and rosemary can help relieve congestion. Aromatic herbal baths have been referred to as “body and soul therapy” since they positively affects one’s mood and general well-being. Nurses, doctors, massage therapists, osteopaths and trained aromatherapists are some of the people who practise aromatherapy. Essential oils, phytoncides and other natural VOCs work in different ways.

Aromatherapy has proved to be so effective at relieving headaches that there are now many commercial aromatherapy preparations on the market concocted especially for this purpose. Aromatherapy comprises essential and scented oils. These oils are intended to reinstate or preserve overall health and are designed to help relieve stress. As well, the oils are used to heal the body and mind of ailments.

Aromatherapy oils come from natural sources, such as plants, bark, trees, flowers, herbs, etc. Aromatherapy bath happens to be a very effective method for relaxing tired, stressed bodies. Aromatherapy oil is the essential oil that comes from the distillation or any extraction product of other aromatherapy products. Aromatherapy uses this principle to provide a soothing and beneficial escape from our everyday cares, worries or responsibilities. People with high blood pressure should avoid hyssop, rosemary, sage and thyme, while diabetics should avoid angelica oil. Women who are pregnant or nursing should avoid a number of oils. he essential oils come in a variety of fragrances. These oils work to offer serenity to the body, while pampering the soul. Benifits of aromatherpy can be sought through massaging and inhalation combined. And as mentioned above, you can use aromatherapy oils as décors, fresheners, etc.

Secrets of Aromatherapy Tips

1. Lavender – First used as perfume by ancient Egyptians 2,500 years ago, lavender is now used to treat insomnia, migraines and provide stress relief.

2. Rosemary – This fragrant plant relieves muscle pain, low blood pressure and cold feet and hands.

3. Spearmint – The oil from spearmint aids digestion and eases nausea and vomiting

4. Certain oils can also stimulate lymphatic drainage or have antibacterial properties.
